  Statement:

The Hawk-i unit is supplied in Europe to conform to European standards 89/336/EEC (Electro Magnetic Compatibility) and  73/23/EEC (low Voltage Directive).

To conform to these standards the relay output contacts supported by the Hawk-i unit may only be used to switch electrical voltages of 50VDC or less.

An error in the user manual, and on the printing of some Hawk-i unit enclosures incorrectly states that Hawk-i relay-3 and Hawk-i relay-4 may be used to switch 240VAC – this is incorrect.
 
Hawk-i relay-3 and Hawk-i relay-4 may only be used to switch electrical Voltages of 50VDC or less and electrical loads of up to 40W.

Required Actions:

If the Hawk-i unit’s relays are being used to switch voltages greater than 50VDC/VAC, then immediately power down the high voltage source and then disconnect the high Voltage source from the Hawk-i unit.  Contact Sinetica.
  
Destroy/delete any printed or electronic “Hawk-i Unit User Manuals”.  Please use the revision 2.00 manual available via download from the Sinetica Web site at the above 'Support' link.

Please check the physical Hawk-i unit labelling, for relay-3 and relay-4 (on the top surface of the Hawk-i unit case).  If the text indicates 240VAC rating, please contact Sinetica.
